Groups and what each can do

The four groups every business starts with, and what people in each can do.

Everyone who signs in to your business is in one group. The group decides what they see and can change. Every business starts with four groups.

Owner

Everything, and ownership. Owners can do everything an admin can, and also:

  • Change permission groups in Settings, then Permissions.
  • Move people to another group, including Owner.
  • Invite people into any group except Owner.

The Owner group never changes, and there's always at least one owner.

Admin

Everything except ownership. With the default permissions, admins can:

  • Edit Business details.
  • Add and edit offices, holidays, services, and booking rules.
  • Add and edit employees, their hours, and their services.
  • Set up the booking page, its website button, and tracking links.
  • Book and change any appointment, and see any customer's details.
  • Open People and access and invite office managers.

Office manager

For the offices they're given. Office managers can:

  • Set hours, holidays, and who works at their offices.
  • Book and change appointments at their offices.
  • See the details of customers at their offices.

They see Offices and Holidays in Settings, but not People and access or Business details.

Employee

Their own schedule and time off. Employees can:

  • See their own appointments on Today.
  • See the team's names, hours, and time off.
  • Add and remove their own time off, in Settings, then Your time off.
  • See the details of customers they have appointments with.

With the default permissions, employees can't book or change appointments. An owner can turn on Change their own appointments for the Employee group.

Everyone

Whatever their group, everyone can change their own name and sign out of their devices in Your account.

Owners can change what the Admin, Office manager, and Employee groups can do, or add groups of their own. See Permission groups.
